The Northwest Panhellenic Council is the administrative and governing body that unites all five sororities. As Northwest's largest women's organization, Panhel works to foster a supportive environment that values scholarship, service, and personal growth through a unified sisterhood. It coordinates all-sorority events, service projects, educational programs, and formal sorority recruitment. Panhel works together to maintain high scholastic and social standards to strengthen the bonds of friendship and sisterhood through the sorority chapters.
The Northwest Panhellenic Council meets every Wednesday @ 6 p.m. If you have any questions, we encourage you to e-mail the Panhellenic President at panpres@websiteoutlok.com.
If you are interested in joining one of our sororities, we encourage you to visit the Recruitment tab listed above to learn about our different processes, or contact the Office of Student Involvement at 660.562.1226.
Sororities at Northwest are premiere leadership organizations for Northwest women. Women interested in becoming a member of a sorority are encouraged to go through the recruitment process. The recruitment process is a mutual selection process between the potential new member and the chapter. Participating in sorority recruitment does not guarantee a bid from a chapter. The goal is to find the chapter where you have the strongest sense of belonging. Recruitment allows interested potential new members to meet current chapter members and learn about each organization, including its history and traditions, the founding values, leadership opportunities, and campus involvement.
Women interested in sorority life can participate in Formal Sorority Recruitment, September 6-9, 2024. This process allows potential new members the opportunity to interact with each Northwest sorority through organized recruitment parties.
After Formal Recruitment is complete, there may be opportunities to attend Continuous Open Recruitment (COR) events, which are casual, sisterhood events typically held on campus. COR events are organized by each individual chapter.
You must be registered to attend formal sorority recruitment for the fall.
Note, there is a $35 fee for Panhellenic recruitment registration.
Fall 2024 Recruitment events will be held September 6-9. An official recruitment schedule will be released in July of 2024. Please follow and like our social media pages for the most up-to-date information!
*Attending recruitment events is not an excuse to miss class. Greek Life values the importance of scholarship and academics; please do not miss class for a recruitment event.
